When Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the army was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, "Let me depart, that I may go to my own country."
Davide si rivolse ad Achimelech, l'Hittita e ad Abisài, figlio di Zeruià, fratello di Ioab, dicendo: «Chi vuol scendere con me da Saul nell'accampamento?.
6 David then asked Ahimelek the Hittite and Abishai son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother, “Who will go down into the camp with me to Saul?”

Moreover, all the leaders, and the powerful, and all the sons of king David pledged with their hand, and they became subject to king Solomon.

Fu riferito a Saul che Davide si era messo in salvo fuggendo da Keila, ed egli rinunciò all’azione.
And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he forbare to go forth.
21 Quando Adad ebbe sentito in Egitto che Davide si era addormentato con i suoi padri e che Ioab, capo dell’esercito, era morto, disse al faraone: «Permettimi di andare al mio paese.
21 And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.
7 Davide si stabilì quindi nella roccaforte che fu perciò chiamata "la città di Davide".
7 And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.
Saul tentò di colpire Davide con la lancia contro il muro. Ma Davide si scansò da Saul, che infisse la lancia nel muro. Davide fuggì e quella notte fu salvo
And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.

And David said to Saul, Wherefore hearest thou men's words, saying, Behold, David seeketh thy hurt?
Samuele morì, e tutto Israele si radunò e lo pianse. Lo seppellirono presso la sua casa in Rama. Davide si alzò e scese al deserto di Paran
And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
Anche Ioab, figlio di Zeruià, e i seguaci di Davide si mossero e li incontrarono presso la piscina di Gàbaon. Questi stavano presso la piscina da una parte e quelli dall'altra parte
And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.
Davide si rattristò per il fatto che il Signore si era scagliato con impeto contro Uzzà; quel luogo fu chiamato Perez-Uzzà fino ad oggi
And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perez-uzzah to this day.
La fama di Davide si diffuse in tutti i paesi, mentre il Signore lo rendeva terribile fra tutte le genti
And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
Davide si alzò in piedi e disse: dimora tranquilla per l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore, per lo sgabello dei piedi del nostro Dio.
Then David the king stood up on his feet, and said, "Hear me, my brothers, and my people!

Allora Davide si mosse con tutta la sua gente e passò il Giordano. All'apparire del giorno, neppure uno era rimasto che non avesse passato il Giordano
Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that was not gone over Jordan.
